Crazy world. Crazy love.

Today's entry based on a Francis Chan sermon.
Every evening I look out our window and the view never ceases to amaze me. Sure, the high-rises (that seem to grow like annoying weeds) obscure the view a bit...but man, I can't help but think that this world, this universe, has to be so much bigger than what my puny mind is able to comprehend.

We live on a freaking floating ball (earth) of water (sea) and fire (lava)! This ball spins over 1,000 times an hour on an axis tilted just perfectly for us to have 4 seasons. While spinning on its axis, the ball is rotating around another ball of fire (sun) that is 1.3 million times its size, thousands of miles per hour...and we feel nothing. These two balls are 93 million miles away from each other. If we were just a little bit closer to the sun, we'd all burn to death. If we were just a bit further from the sun, we'd all freeze to death.
DANG! I mean, how can you read that and it NOT blow your mind??? How can you read that and it not make you wonder who this amazing creator is?
For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse. [Romans 1:20]
What blows my mind even more is knowing that this God, the creator of the entire universe, actually cares about me! He actually cares about where I live, what I'm doing, how I feel, how I live my life on this floating ball...he even cares about my view.
Please watch this really short video. A simple yet profound illustration.
