We are so excited GBL's first short-termer is finally here. Joan is a medical doctor from the States, who's going to be doing some work at BCI's international clinic and rehabilitation center, along with some other cool things. More importantly, we're praying God does a great work IN her during the 3 weeks that she is here.
Here is Joan going with me to visit some surgical patients, post-op. Pictured is a girl that was severely burned from her chest down to her feet. She's had multiple surgeries for scars and contractures. When she was younger she was wearing a dress, playing dress up...when some sparks from an open fire landed on her dress and caught it on fire. Children playing and sleeping next to an open fire is very common in the villages, as it usually is their only source of warmth.

Here is little Annie, who we spoke about in some previous posts. She arrived in Kunming yesterday and is getting some required tests/work-up at Kunming Children's Hospital. Thanks to our supporters, we helped them pay for their inpatient/surgical stay. Surgery is likely scheduled for tomorrow. Please pray for the child, the anxious parents, and Dr. Huang (who is the assigned surgeon). The hospital switched doctors last minute to Dr. Huang...and the parents are quite nervous about the change as they liked the previously assigned doctor.

Last but not least, we have to thank the BANYON HOUSE CHURCH (APEX in Dayton, Ohio) for donating all these cough meds. You guys are DA BOMB!! This is going to be so helpful as cold season is here and SOOOO many kids are being seen at the clinic/rehab with respiratory junk. Special thanks to Angie and Katie for organizing this! We know it took a lot of work.
