Walking again.

5 years ago, this currently 15 year old boy, lost his leg in an accident. From a poorer, village background, the family didn't have much as far as resources. He was stuck using a crutch for the past 5 years. I got a call from a local ch-rch pastor asking if we could do anything for this child. I asked for a picture. Here it is:

We asked him to wrap it for 2-4 weeks so it can conform better to the prosthetic, and make a better fitting mold. So the process begins.

Finally, came up to see me last week. Getting the measurements. Then, making the mold. Proesthetic took about a week to make...and perfect, by BCI's local prosthetic team.

Finally, today, got to be with him as he was fitted with his new lower limb. He said it's been 5 years since he was able to put both feet on the ground...that it felt weird, but nice. It was such a blessing seeing him walk, without an assistive device. Our father is so good!
